Ashley designed and played the role of "Alaska 1997", a Mainland Chinese woman who pretends to be a Hong Kong-born person that speaks perfect Hong Kong Cantonese with no Mainland Chinese accent. She publicly denounces genders and identifies as genderless such as in the improvised political debate in the show. However, she privately identifies as a woman, and has secretly married a man. She is one of the suspects for killing the host of the international political extreme far left conference.
